What is a SIPP?

A Self Invested Personal Pension is a registered pension scheme which allows the member to choose their investment structure from a wider variety of products than personal pension schemes.

It is a “wrapper” for any previous schemes to be transferred to and invest from the one source rather than with multiple administrators.

Since 6 April 2006 the permitted investments have been vastly expanded to include connected party transactions.  Details of many of the types of investments can be found here.
